Tulunghaan sa Dalan

Hope for a bright future.

Tulunghaan sa Dalan takes children who live in the streets and puts them on the road to a better future. It provides a safe environment for these children where they can develop mentally, psychologically, and socially.

All over the Philippines, especially in urban centers, children on their own or with family live without the basic necessities. They can’t afford education, even in public schools.

Tulunghaan sa Dalan, or Tulda for short, was instituted in partnership with Aktion Wasserbüffel (AWB), a non-profit organization registered in 1994 in Jülich (North Rhine-Westphalia), and also registered in 2022 in Raeren (East Belgium). The mission of AWB is to help Philippine communities help themselves, with funding raised from donations.

Aktion Wasserbüffel (which means “Water Buffalo Action”) traces its name from its first project, raising funds and other support to help residents of Kara-an on Negros buy carabaos to work in the fields and build a school. The residents had fled to this mountain village to escape military and human rights abuses, and had nothing to build a life on.

Tulda is a revival of the Tulunghaan project first initiated in 2009 by AWB in Cebu. That school was later taken over by the government.
